THIS WEEK, MOST CARMAKERS ACROSS CHINA RESUMED OPERATIONS AFTER AROUND THREE WEEKS OF SHUTDOWN DUE TO THE DEADLY CORONAVIRUS BREAKOUT. AUTO BIGGIES INCLUDING GENERAL MOTORS, FIAT CHRYSLER AND TOYOTA MOTOR CONFIRMED THAT THEY ARE RESTARTING PRODUCTION IN CHINA. HOWEVER, WUHAN — THE EPICENTER OF THE VIRUS OUTBREAK — IS MOST LIKELY TO REMAIN IN LOCKDOWN. VEHICLE ASSEMBLY PLANTS IN WUHAN — INCLUDING JVS WITH HONDA, PSA GROUPE AND RENAULT — ARE LIKELY TO BE CLOSED UNTIL NEXT WEEK.
THE WORKS CRF450 CLUTCH COVER IS CLOSE TO THE STOCK CRF450 COVER, BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE OIL FILTER ACCESS PLUG, WHILE THE ENGINE’S SIDE CASE IS SAND-CAST, PERHAPS FROM MAGNESIUM, HAS A SIGHT GLASS AND OIL FILLER CAP (AT THE TOP) THAT THE STOCKER DOESN’T HAVE. INDUSTRY EXPERTS SAID SUPPLIERS HAD BUILT UP A CUSHION OF PARTS IN INVENTORY AND IN-TRANSIT AHEAD OF THE LONG CHINESE NEW YEAR HOLIDAY IN LATE JANUARY. THOSE WILL START TO RUN OUT IF CHINESE PARTS FACTORIES CANNOT GET BACK TO WORK NEXT WEEK, OR IF FLIGHTS TO AND FROM CHINA REMAIN LIMITED.
